We will have a very impactful 2 Hour show for you this week! We will have guest, Dr. Sarah Sumner, on for both our segments! Sarah Sumner, Ph.D., MBA is the first woman theologian in U.S. history to become dean of a conservative evangelical seminary. In her first sixteen months on the job as dean of A.W. Tozer Theological Seminary, she assembled and led a team that broke three all-time records in 34 years. Prior to her deanship, Dr. Sumner was a faculty member and department chair at Azusa Pacific University (1997-2009). Before that, she taught theology at Wheaton College and served on the church staff as a ministry leader in the evangelism department at Willow Creek (1994-1995). In 1996, she married Jim Sumner. And that's part of the problem. Every person on the planet at times is an Oscar-winning liar. Haven't we all lied without being caught? As the Bible says, "There is no one righteous, not even one. Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit" (Romans 3:10-13). What are the seven lies and what do we do about the lying? You will find this segment very enlightening! In the second segment we will ask the question, So You Need Moral Courage? In a Judeo-Christian culture in which "a man's word is his bond," and a handshake suffices to establish a legal agreement between bank loaner and borrower of $100,000 dollars, the word courage is more associated with physical feats of achievement than with simple acts of playing fair and honestly telling the truth. But in a post-truth, post-fairness postmodern culture that openly derides Judeo-Christian ethics, the concept of courage more aptly refers to moral courage. Moral courage is the prerequisite for daring to do what is right. If you are a person who takes God seriously, you are probably poised to need more moral courage than you have ever had in your life!
